Lay Assistant Spiritual Director Qualifications

     The following is a brief explanation of the duties and qualifications of a Lay Assistant Spiritual Director (LASD). These are lay people who because of theological and spiritual study and course work have been approved by the Cursillo Board to function in a limited capacity as an Assistant Spiritual Director on a Cursillo weekend. They are not ordained nor have taken religious vows.  A prospective LASD would be required to submit a LASD application to the Board.

Requirements of a LASD:

  1. Past Rector/a of a Cursillo
  2. Basic Requirement  - one of the following areas of study or training is required.
  • A degree in parochial ministry or theology
  • A Diocesan Lay Ministry certificate
